What The Hook: Terms of Use

Last updated 1 November 2026

These terms cover your use of What The Hook, the free AI-powered Instagram audit by What The Cuts. Please read them before you run an audit.

About these terms

What The Hook is run by Faizul Rahman N, trading as What The Cuts, a sole proprietor in Tamil Nadu, India (“we”, “us”). By using What The Hook you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use it for a business, you confirm you can accept these terms for that business.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older to use What The Hook.

What the tool does

You type in a public Instagram username. The tool reads that account's public data, the way anyone who is not logged in can see it, finds a few similar public accounts to compare against, and uses AI to analyse posts, reels, hooks and captions. You see a short first look on screen, and the full report is emailed to you as a PDF. It is free. It does not need your Instagram login and never asks for your password.

What the results are, and what they are not

  • The report is AI analysis of public data. It is for information only and is not professional, legal or financial advice.
  • The numbers are what Instagram shows publicly at the moment we read them. They can differ from what you see in your own app or in Instagram Insights.
  • The tool never measures retention, watch time, reach or any other private Insights data, because these are not public.
  • Scores and suggestions are opinions. AI can make mistakes. We check the numbers in each report, but we cannot promise every detail is right.
  • We do not guarantee any result, such as more views, followers, engagement, leads or sales.

Accounts you may audit

Only audit accounts that you own, that you have permission to analyse, or that are public and which you are analysing for a fair purpose, such as research, benchmarking or preparing a pitch.

Do not use What The Hook to harass, stalk, embarrass or build profiles of private individuals, and do not use a report to mislead anyone.

Fair use

The tool is free, so it has limits. Today these are 3 full audits per day per network and per email address, a daily cap on first looks, and an overall daily cap. We may change these limits, or pause the tool, at any time.

You must not:

  • use bots, scripts or other automated means to use the tool;
  • scrape, copy or resell the tool, its pages or its reports as a service;
  • try to get around the limits, for example with many email addresses or networks;
  • reverse engineer, overload, attack or interfere with the tool or the services behind it.

Your report

Your report is yours to use. You may keep, share and publish it freely, including with your clients or team. If you present it as a What The Hook report, please do not change what it says.

We keep all rights in the tool itself: its design, brand, scoring method and code. Public Instagram content shown in a report, such as captions and thumbnails, belongs to its owners.

Emails from us

We email your report to the address you give. We may also contact you about What The Cuts services. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying “unsubscribe” or “stop”.

No warranty

What The Hook is provided free, “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we give no promises that it will always be available, error free or fit for a particular purpose.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, followers, data or business opportunities arising from your use of What The Hook. Our total liability for any claim about the tool is limited to INR 5,000.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights under consumer laws that apply to you, such as the Australian Consumer Law or UK consumer law.

Suspension and ending

We may block access for anyone who breaks these terms, and we may change or stop the tool at any time. You can stop using it at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the Privacy Policy).

Instagram and Meta

What The Hook is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Instagram or Meta. Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using What The Hook after a change, the new terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction. This does not take away any mandatory consumer rights you have in the country where you live.
